Look & Feel Your Best: Wedding Day Hair & Makeup Tips

Your wedding day is filled with so many meaningful moments — and looking and feeling your absolute best is part of the magic. That’s why a smooth, stress-free hair and makeup experience is key.

At Pomegranate Occasions, we collaborate with exceptional glam teams who understand that preparation is everything. So we’ve compiled the essential pro tips (and a few trendy insights!) to help you glow from the inside out — with zero stress on the big day.

✨ Before the Big Day: How to Prep

1. At least one week before the big day …

  • Share a current photo of yourself and inspo photos with your Hair & MakeUp Team. This helps your beauty team plan ahead for your skin tone, hair type, and texture. Bonus points if the lighting is natural and the makeup is minimal. Have 2–3 photos of hair and makeup looks you love. Whether it's soft glam, beachy waves, or a bold lip, having visuals helps ensure your artist nails your vision. Try to choose images with similar hair lengths, face shapes, and skin tones to yours for more accurate results.

  • Do a Hair & Makeup Trial. so you feel 100% confident in the results and share feedback in advance.

2. The night before the wedding day ...

  • Gently exfoliate your skin. Use a mild scrub or enzyme-based product to create a smooth canvas.

  • Tackle chapped lips. A soft toothbrush and a small amount of lip balm can work wonders.

  • Wash your hair. Yes, clean hair is best — especially for updos. Stylists can always add texture, but can’t clean product buildup on-site.

  • Dry it thoroughly. Unless you’ve booked a blowout, your hair should be completely dry before arrival. Wet hair can delay your timeline and may incur an additional fee.

3. The morning of...

  • Skip makeup. As tempting as it may be to apply concealer “just in case,” clean, makeup-free skin is a must.

  • Use a light moisturizer only. Skip SPF and heavy serums — they can affect how your makeup sets.

  • Wear a button-down or robe. You’ll want something that easily slips off without messing up your look.

Don’t Forget the Details

  • Bring the goods. Have your hair accessories (headbands, pins, crowns, florals, or extensions) clean and ready to go. Washed extensions hold better and look more natural.

  • Feed your glam squad.
If your artists are with you for more than 4 hours, providing snacks and water — and a short break — goes a long way. Think of it as part of creating a relaxed, generous energy that ripples through the room.

  • Respect the schedule.
Timeliness matters. Keeping your artist’s chair filled ensures your entire glam timeline stays on track. Empty-chair time may incur a wait fees and adds unnecessary pressure to the team and the flow of your morning.

Trending Beauty Tips for 2025 Brides

  • Glowing, dewy skin is in. Ask for cream-based products and light-reflecting primers for that lit-from-within bridal glow.

  • Natural, brushed-up brows continue to trend — think soft definition, not sharp outlines.

  • Effortless hair is hot. Half-up styles, textured buns, and soft waves with natural volume are dominating bridal looks this year.

  • Soft glam > full glam. Think: flushed cheeks, nude gloss, and romantic lashes instead of heavy contour and matte lipstick.

  • Custom lip colors. Ask your artist to create a custom blend or provide a touch-up kit with your exact shade for the evening.

Your glam process should be part of the celebration — not the stress. With the proper prep, excellent communication, and a little pampering, you’ll feel relaxed, radiant, and ready to walk down the aisle.

And remember: the best beauty secret of all is feeling loved, supported, and completely yourself. We'll handle the logistics — you bring the glow.
